Greg joined Mediclinic Southern Africa in 2013 as Chief HR Officer following many years in leadership positions across the fields of human resources and strategy. Prior to Mediclinic, he served as Group HR Director at BMW South Africa, led Human Resources and strategy at Land Bank, and held the position of Associate Director in Human Capital at Deloitte. He was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Mediclinic Southern Africa in April 2022.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Law (University of Johannesburg), Diploma in Education (Bechet, now Edgewood).

Braam_Joubert

Braam Joubert

Chief Financial Officer

Braam Joubert joined Mediclinic in 1995 as an accountant, after which he was appointed as financial manager of the group in 1998. He was appointed as Chief Financial Officer of Mediclinic Southern Africa in 2008.

Qualifications: Braam holds an Honours degree in Accounting (B.Comm. (Hons)) from the University of Stellenbosch and is a qualified Chartered Accountant with the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Gail_Shagangu

Gale Shabangu

Chief Transformation Officer

Gale Shabangu joined Mediclinic Southern Africa in October 2019 as the Chief Transformation Officer. She has vast experience within the diversity and inclusion field, and has served in similar roles at blue-chip South African companies such as Accenture and Vodacom.

Qualification: She holds a BCom (Economics and Taxation) from the University of Witwatersrand.

Dr Gerrit de Villiers

Chief Operating Officer

Dr Gerrit de Villiers joined Mediclinic Panorama hospital in 2015 as the Hospital Clinical Manager after 15 years in private practice as a paediatrician. Thereafter he was promoted to Group General Manager: Clinical Performance of Mediclinic International in 2018 and to Chief Clinical Officer of Mediclinic Southern Africa in 2021.

Qualifications: Gerrit holds a MMed in Paediatrics (Stellenbosch University); a diploma in Child Health (Royal College of Physicians of London); and a PgDip in Business Management and Administration (Stellenbosch University). He is registered as a medical specialist with the Health Professionals Council of South Africa. 

Corne__Heyns

Corné Heyns

Chief Strategy Officer

Corné Heyns joined the Mediclinic group in 2004 as the manager responsible for new business opportunities for Mediclinic Southern Africa. His role later expanded to include support for international business opportunities, related corporate finance activities and investor relations for the group. In 2014 he was appointed as the manager of business performance for Mediclinic Southern Africa; and subsequently as the Chief Strategy Officer and member of the Executive Committee of Mediclinic Southern Africa in 2017.

Qualifications: He holds an Honours degree in Accounting (B.Acc. (Hons)), from the University of Stellenbosch and is a qualified Chartered Accountant with the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants. Corné also holds a Bachelor of Theology (Honours) (cum laude) from the South African Theological Seminary (2019).

Chief Legal Officer

Clara Findlay practiced as an attorney for several years, where after she joined Mediclinic as legal adviser in 1997 and was appointed as Chief Legal Officer of Mediclinic Southern Africa in 2008.

Qualifications: Clara holds a Bachelors in Law (B.A. LLB) from the University of Cape Town.

Raymond Plotz

Chief Information Officer

Raymond Plotz joined Mediclinic in 1995 and has held various managerial positions in the ICT department. He was appointed as the Chief Information Officer in 2011.

Qualifications: Raymond holds a Certificate on Information Systems Management from UCT Graduate School of Business and is a graduate of the Senior Management Development Program from Executive Business School, University of Stellenbosch.

Dr Rachel Moore

Dr Rachel Moore

Chief Clinical Officer

Dr Rachel Moore joined Mediclinic in 2023, as Chief Clinical Officer of Mediclinic Southern Africa. Rachel has extensive experience within the public healthcare sector including Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital and Sebokeng Regional Hospital. She has a keen interest in research, particularly global surgery and been deeply involved in the South African Burns Society as Executive Committee member and co-ordinator.

Qualifications: Rachel holds an MBBCh (University of the Witwatersrand), FCS(SA) (University of Witwatersrand) and is an Emergency Management of Severe Burns (EMSB) course instructor. She is registered as a medical specialist with the Health Professionals Council of South Africa.

Michele Seroke chief human resources officer at Mediclinic Southern Africa

Michele Seroke

Chief Human Resources Executive

Michele Seroke joined Mediclinic in September 2024 as the Chief Human Resources Executive. She is a seasoned Human Resources leader having held various strategic senior management and executive positions, both locally and internationally, at several organisations including ArcelorMittal, Eskom, GE Southern Africa, Central Energy Fund and Motus Corporation as Chief People Officer overseeing the group across Europe, United Kingdom, Australia, Southeast Asia, as well as Southern and East Africa.

Qualification: Michele holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences and Humanities in Psychology & Industrial Sociology qualification (University of Cape Town).
